Mahaska employee Jason Mika is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, and has been working at our Omaha location for a year now as Extended Territory Sales Representative. Before coming to Mahaska, he was a Camping Manager at Scheels in Omaha. Find out more about him and what he is most passionate about below… it’ll melt your heart!
What is a typical day at Mahaska look like for you?
I wake up and jump out of bed ready to take on the day. I run to my van and get out as quick as I can so I can start the day. Next I get to go and talk to some of the best customers in the WORLD! Not to mention I get to sell some pretty cool products.
Favorite beverage that Mahaska distributes?
I would have to go with the TYR Endurance Sport Limao. It gives me the energy to get though the day!
What do you do outside of Mahaska for fun?
Mostly I do a lot of stuff with my son Cordell, and my wife Michelle. Cordell is now a freshman at Millard South High School, so we go to his events. He is active in baseball, football, and track.
What’s something no one would guess about you?
That when I was 19, I ran a Lone Star Steakhouse in West Des Moines, Iowa.
How would you think your friends describe you in one sentence?
A great friend to have in a jam.
What are you most passionate about?
My son Cordell.
Are you involved in the local community? If so, how?
I am currently an Assistant Scoutmaster for our Boy Scout Troop 282 in Millard, Nebraska.
How would you describe “Midwest Values?”
To quote a Hank Williams Jr. song…
“We say grace, and we say Ma’am – if you ain’t into that, we don’t give a damn.”
