Meet Joe Hartley, Mahaska Route Manager

12-year Mahaska employee Joe Hartley is passionate about his family and enjoys giving back to the community. Although he is a full-time Route Manager for Mahaska, Joe participates in plenty of outdoor activities in his free time. Find out more about Joe and his adventures below!

What is a typical day at Mahaska look like for you?

Training, teaching, and learning new things every day.

Favorite beverage that Mahaska distributes?

Diet Pepsi 20oz.

Favorite snack that Mahaska distributes?

Peanut butter M&M’s.

What do you do outside of Mahaska for fun?

I like to train and participate in Tough Mudder, run in 5K’s, play golf in the summer, and ski in the winter.

What’s something no one would guess about you?

I participate and volunteer in Tough Mudder events for Wounded Warriors.

How would you think your friends describe you in one sentence?

That I am well-grounded and an easy to get along with guy, and have a great sense of humor.

What are you most passionate about?

My family (wife, 5 kids, and 3 grandchildren)

Are you involved in the local community? If so, how?

My wife and I are members of the local church and we contribute to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Salina, and also Relay for Life.

What have you seen Mahaska do that benefits the local community?

Mahaska has done a lot for our local community, from Big Brother and Big Sisters, to Relay for Life, to helping kids in school. Also, the scholarship for employees.
