What was your job before coming to Mahaska?

I was the head painter for MacLander Trailers

What drew you to Mahaska originally?

What have you gained from working at Mahaska?  I started as an intern for NoCoast that turned into a full time position. I have gained many friendships and a wider knowledge of the craft beer industry.

What does a typical day look like for you?

In the brewery there is no such thing as a typical day. I can be doing anything from brewing a beer to being on the road mobile canning. There are days when I’m in the lab the full day making lab media and running tests on our products every step from start to months in the public or counting yeast cells.

Favorite Beverage that Mahaska distributes?

I mainly drink Klarbrunn water but I do like CranGrape juice and Gatorade.

Favorite Snack that Mahaska distributes?

I do like yogurt and fruit cups. On occasion I like a 3 musketeer.

What do you do outside of Mahaska for fun?

I enjoy reading, hiking, paddle boarding, and spending time with family.

If you could pick a superpower, which would it be? Why?

I don’t think there is a superpower I would like to have. I thought of many that would be great but in the end each had its faults that were equal to the pros of having it.

What inspires you?

The people around me always inspire me. Each person I know or meet has their own unique background. This inspires me to not only learn new things but to push myself to be a better person than I was the day before. My husband and kids also inspire me. Without their support and encouragement each day I would not be who I am today.

If you had $1,000,000 how would you spend it?

A small cabin with 2 bathrooms hidden in the mountains with a library full of books. The rest would go into savings as well as investments for retirement and more books. No, I would not stop working.

What is your favorite quote?

Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you are climbing it! – Andy Rooney
