Mahaska Gives Back

Mahaska Bottling Company has a long history that dates back to the late 1800’s. From initial manufacturing innovations to bottling, vending, distribution and more, Mahaska has grown and changed as a company over the years. However, one thing Mahaska has proudly kept consistent is the involvement in our local communities. Giving back is something that we have prioritized and will continue to prioritize, and the past year has been no exception!

In 2016, our Oskaloosa location gave back to the community in more ways than one. We held several blood drives throughout the year, giving employees the chance to volunteer for something important. According to the American Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds, and more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. Participating in a blood drive is a great way for employees to get involved in a good cause.

Our Oskaloosa location also got in the Christmas spirit of giving. This year, Mahaska was one of the employers in Oskaloosa who adopted 2 children from Mahaska county. The annual 2016 Mahaska County Christmas Project was sponsored by Sieda Community Action. Employees donated new items to Sieda that were then given to the children on Christmas.

Mahaska is also one of the many employers in Mahaska county that participated in the United Way coat drive. This year, several coats and hoodies were collected in order to be donated to those in need through United Way as part of their annual coat drive.

We couldn’t have had the success we did this past year at Mahaska without the support and selflessness of our amazing employees here. Thank you to everyone involved in giving back to our communities in 2016. Now, let’s make 2017 a year with no exceptions!
