Get to know Colby Lemons

We are highlighting Colby Lemons in this month’s employee spotlight.  He has worked with us for 8 months as a Coffee Sales Representative. Colby was born and raised in Salina, Kansas, working in coffee sales before coming to Mahaska.  Check out the rest to get to know Colby better:

What is a typical day at Mahaska look like for you?

Busy but in a great way. Every morning I do emails and follow up contact to the prospect customers that will be in the area of travel for that day. I go out and do a lot of cold calls introducing people to our products, then try to close the deal. Building a relationship with prospect customers, and existing customers is the best part of what I do!

Favorite beverage that Mahaska distributes?

I really enjoy our outlaw energy. Being the “Coffee Guy” caffeine is a big part of what I do. It makes the world go around!

Favorite snack that Mahaska distributes?

I am not a hardcore health nut but I do like to keep things healthy and clean. We have a great line up of healthy veggie chips and popcorn style snacks.

What do you do outside of Mahaska for fun?

I love spending time with my daughters, I enjoy being at the gym and lifting weights it very is therapeutic . I also enjoy the outdoors anything from camping, hunting, and fishing.

What’s something no one would guess about you?

By first glance people would think I am a city kid. But I am actually a country boy!

How would you think your friends describe you in one sentence?

Someone who is outgoing, loyal, and would help out anyone in need.

What are you most passionate about?

Overall just doing the best that I can in everything from my work, to my home life. Being SUCCESSFUL!

Are you involved in the local community? If so, how?

Yes! I help out with Mahaska at our local events. I go out and sample coffee and our new products.

What have you seen Mahaska do that benefits the local community?

We are involved a lot with community. We support our local organizations, and schools.

How would you describe “Midwest Values?”

There are more words that come to mind when I read this. The Midwest is something you cannot experience anywhere else.  People are honest, friendly, and take family values to another level. The saying “Home is where the Heart is” really is accurate!
